The Majors Division is game centric with an emphasis on competition. A player in the Majors Division should:

- possess proficient in-game awareness with regard to force outs, base running and strike zones;
- Be comfortable facing player pitching up to 50 mph;
- safely field hard hits and throws.

LGPLL’s primary goal is a positive experience for all players and recognizes players develop at different rates. If a player is the age for Majors, but parents feel he/she would have a more positive experience in Minors,  please contact the VP of Majors.

Team Selection: Draft by Team Managers

Schedule: Play begins in April and approximately 14-17 games will be played plus a single elimination playoff that all teams will be eligible for.

Fields: All games will be played at Hanesworth North.

Practice: Teams will practice at their managers discretion. Typically each team will have 3-5 practices before the season starts with in season practice common.  There is no league policy on practice as it is entirely up to the manager to practice as often as they see fit.

Game Play:  Majors games will consist of 6 innings of competitive baseball in which the score will be kept along with league standings. The league is entirely kid pitch.  An umpire will call balls and strikes from behind the plate.  At the conclusion of the regular season a single elimination playoff will take place in which all teams are seeded according to their regular season record.  First place team will represent LGPLL in the Brookfield Overholt Tournament in September.  District All-Star teams (11U & 12U) will be selected for both age groups by the league managers.  Each age group will play in tournaments during the entire month of July at the conclusion of the regular season playoffs.  If you have any questions about registration, the rules, or placement of your child, please contact the divisional VP.  Email address can be found on the League Board tab of this website.

A hat and team shirt is provided by the league. Players will need to bring their own glove, but helmets and bats are optional (and are otherwise shared/provided by the league during the game).
